KUALA LUMPUR: A right, royal stamp. In conjunction with the installation of 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah on Wednesday, Pos Malaysia Bhd will issue a special stamp and philatelic collection.
Pos Malaysia Stamp and Philatelic Unit head Yasmin Ramli said the commemorative stamps featuring portraits of Tuanku Abdul Halim and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Hajah Haminah, would be on sale from April 12.
“A complete set, comprising 60 sen, 80 sen and RM1 stamps, first-day cover, booklet, leaflet and product summary issued in conjunction with Tuanku Abdul Halim’s installation costs RM66.90,” she told reporters here Monday.
The first-day cover costing 50 sen each will be sold on the first day at selected post offices.
And, that’s not all. The royal installation has also cast its spell on stamp collectors from at least four countries.
Yasmin said the first-day cover and commemorative stamps, in celebration of the installation of the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, had also been booked by collectors from Thailand, Australia, India and Japan.
“Stamp collectors, especially of the royal collection, are encouraged to register as a standing order deposit account member to obtain stamps and other philatelic items issued by Pos Malaysia, without having to queue up at the counter,” she said. – Bernama
